Eel

Our Butterflied Eel comes in a 1lb pack containing 3-4 fillets (4-6 oz. per fillet). 

Beginning with glass eels harvested from the pristine rivers of Maine, our fish are locally raised without added hormones or antibiotics, resulting in a high-quality seafood product unrivaled in its traceability and sustainability.

Eels have a rich history of connection with cultures and recipes all over the world. Our American eel fillets are butterflied and individually frozen to preserve their freshness and rich umami flavors. Our clean raw frozen fillets are easy to use for a familiar recipe such as unagi kabyaki or for exploring in your own kitchen the unique recipes and history connected to this incredible fish.

THAWING & HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS

Thaw under refrigeration, once fully defrosted remove and discard from all packaging. Cook immediately. Do not thaw and refreeze.

Keep frozen until ready to consume. Do not refreeze. Do not microwave. Do not consume raw. Product must be fully cooked to an internal temperature of 145˚F. Appliances and fillet thickness may vary; adjust cooking times accordingly.

Our eel is perfect for unagi kabayaki, a traditional Japanese dish of grilled eel basted in a flavorful sweet soy sauce marinade.
